The Winter Wonderland fashion show benefits the disabled in San Diego | Bot To News

Winter Wonderland was presented by the San Diego ARC on December 2 at the US Grant Hotel Downtown. Guests were able to shop for gifts in the vendor shop and silent auction for holiday shopping. At noon all attendees moved to the main hall for lunch and the fashion show. Maria Stanley and Cici Drummond were the chairmen of the event. The festivities were kicked off by emcee, Brittany Shiperly.

The witty Clint Bell was the crowd auctioneer. He is an expert at talking off the cuff and kept the audience engaged between points. My favorite item from the live auction was being first in line for valet service. Since there was a large crowd at the exit, this was an invaluable item.

After lunch, entertainment was provided by style personality Leonard Simpson. He is a well-known television host and producer of high-profile fashion shows in San Diego, Los Angeles and New York. The runway started with a ‘Global Fusion’ look by Satori Designs. They have a colorful and very international look. Then came Leonard Simpson’s beautiful Fashion Forward coats. Emporio Armani showed the latest trends. Next, Hidden Rose Boutique hit the runway with their ultra-feminine gowns made from tulle and chiffon.

Bespoke tailoring Zeglio Custom Clothiers added in the afternoon with impeccable style and fit. Satori had a repeat performance walking down the runway in her vibrant and colorful outfit. Creative touches were added by Gloria Parker bringing liveliness to the presentation. In keeping with the holiday season, bright and sparkly dresses came down the runway at Shangri La. They wear vintage and modern fashion. Nolan Dean presented his beautiful dresses in rich luscious fabrics.

Ford model Nikki Myer made a special guest appearance in two of the segments. The finale showcased the designs of Debbie Nghiem. Ahead of the holidays, she showcased standout designs in rich velvets, sequins and feathers.

All proceeds from this event benefit the San Diego Arch. They provide services to people with disabilities and help them achieve their life goals. Founded in 1951, they offer programs in more than 20 locations throughout the county. To learn more about their amazing organization, visit: arc-sd.com/our-services/.
