Tabor City man charged in connection with stolen tractor, gun case | Bot To News


Tabor City, NC (WECT) – The Columbus County Sheriff’s Department has announced that 29-year-old Kevin Leon Thompkins Jr. of Tabor City has been arrested and charged in connection with a November theft case.

According to the release, CCSO responded to a breaking and entering and robbery on Nov. 23. A blue LS i3030 tractor, two .22 caliber rifles and two televisions were taken from the property.

On November 24, CCSO, working with the Horry County Police Department, located a stolen tractor behind a residence at 3955 Green Sea Road in Green Sea, SC. Following several interviews with witnesses, Thomkins Jr. was identified as the suspect.

He was arrested on November 26 at Old Stake Road in Tabor and has been charged with:

  • Criminal act
  • felony breaking and entering
  • Two counts of criminal possession of a firearm
  • Offense after breaking/entering

At this time, Thomkins Jr. is being held under a $60,000 secured bond. He is being held at the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center, officials said.
