Saturday morning weather at your fingertips | Bot To News

EAST TEXAS, Texas (KLTV/KTRE) – Happy Saturday, East Texas! Here’s the weather where you live… Muggy and overcast today, with showers and thunderstorms likely this afternoon and tonight. However, this morning we are dry minus the fog and maybe some fog. Temperatures to start our Saturday are in the 60s and it feels sticky from the humidity in the air. This afternoon, we will see temperatures peaking in the 70s and 70s, close to 80 degrees in the warmest areas. Showers and thunderstorms will begin to reach the area in the late morning, but are not expected to become widespread until the late afternoon and evening hours.

If you saw my forecast yesterday morning, I mentioned that there was no threat of severe weather for this weekend. Unfortunately, there is now a Marginal Risk (Level 1/5), mainly from the possibility of one or two stronger or more severe thunderstorms. Widespread severe weather is not expected today, though remain a weather watch. Showers and thunderstorms will clear the area overnight, with little rain expected after sunrise tomorrow, except for some light rain/mist/drizzle with clouds. Temperatures on Sunday afternoon will be about ten degrees cooler than today.

Looking ahead, the main topic of discussion for the coming week is the potential for severe weather on Tuesday. Since last weekend, we have been monitoring this threat and a First Weather Warning Day is now in effect for Tuesday due to the possibility of severe weather conditions. As of this morning, it’s still too early to go into details, but all severe weather hazards seem possible at this point. Stay tuned for updates on the forecast for next Tuesday. Have a great weekend.
