Kantara OTT release: ‘Kantara’ coming to Amazon Prime Video, reports suggest Rishabh Shetty starrer to release next week | Bot To News

Actor-director Rishabh Shetty’s ‘Kantara’ is winning hearts across India.

With many reviews from celebrities on social media, the action thriller will soon debut OTT on Amazon Prime Video.

Several media reports claimed that the much-awaited film will finally release on the OTT platform next week on November 24. Amazon is believed to have bought the film’s digital and satellite rights long before its release.

According to earlier reports, it was slated to release on November 4 and then on November 18. After its dramatic performance at the box office, the makers had to change the OTT release plan several times. However, neither the makers nor the streaming giant has officially announced the OTT release date of the Shetty-penned blockbuster.

Last week, Shetty’s latest release became the second highest grossing Kannada film of all time, beating Yash starrer ‘KGF: Chapter 1’.

With an all-India collection of Rs 330 crore (till November 12), ‘Kantara’ is only trailing ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ which has earned Rs 1207 crore at the box office.

The Hindi version of the film has crossed the Rs 76 crore mark in its fifth weekend (till November 18).

The long festival weekend helped the film gain momentum at the box office. It was originally released in Kannada on 30 September. The film was praised for its storyline and visuals.

After receiving massive response, the makers decided to dub the film in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil, which hit the theaters on 14 October.

Produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Hombale Films, the film also stars Sapthami Gowda, Kishore Kumar G, Pramod Shetty, Achyuth Kumar in lead roles.

‘Kantara’ talks about land politics and the issue of man versus nature. Set in the fictional Dakshina Kannada village, the story follows Shetty, who plays a kambala champion, who comes face-to-face with an honest forest conservator.

In the past few years, many South Indian films including ‘Baahubali’, ‘KGF’, ‘Pushpaa’ and ‘Kartikeya 2’ have received worldwide appreciation for their amazing content.
