Google Launches Android 13 OS for Smart Televisions – Transcontinental Times | Bot To News

India: Google has released Android 13 operating system for smart TVs. The latest software update for Google-powered TVs has brought several new features, including improved performance, expanded customization and some UI changes.

The update will roll out to Android 12 smart TV owners in the coming weeks.

Before creating the audio track, the smart TV running on Android 13 OS will recognize the rooting device and support the latest software version formats.

Developers can now expect audio attribute support for the active audio device and, thanks to improvements to the Audio Manager API, select the best format without starting playback.

This will ensure that games and streaming applications can deliver maximum audio quality when connected to external speakers and soundbars.

Depending on the capabilities of the hardware, users can control specific parameters with HDMI source devices such as refresh rate and resolution.

Android 13 for Smart TVs also features a smart power management system that reduces power consumption when the gadget is in reserve mode.

Google has implemented additional features, including a new keyboard layout API that lets users select different language layouts for external keyboards.

The API ensures hardware mute switch status in system privacy settings, improving user control over microphone access.

Accessibility Manager’s newly developed Audio Description API allows applications to query a brand new system-wide audio description preference setting.

The new API enables developers to automatically provide audio descriptions based on the user’s preferences.

Google is currently testing end-to-end encrypted RCS (Rich Communication Services) group chats. RCS will be available to a limited number of participants in the open beta program in the coming weeks.

End-to-end message data encryption ensures that only those involved in the conversation can see the messages, according to Google, making texts received via Google Messages secure and private.
