First day weather alert in place as showers move through area Sunday | Bot To News


CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – Prepare for a cloudy weekend with more chances for scattered showers from time to time throughout the day on Sunday. We will have some breaks in clouds and a break in rain on Monday and Tuesday, but chances of rain will return before a strong cold front comes midweek.

  • Monday: Becoming mostly sunny, nice.
  • Tuesday: Lots of sun, cool afternoon.

For the night, there will be a small chance of some showers or isolated drizzles; otherwise, expect cloudy skies with lows in the 40s.

On Sunday, a rapid upper level disturbance will bring a few scattered showers to our area, mainly south of I-40. Areas that do not receive rain will remain cloudy and cool with highs ranging from the 40s in the mountains to the 50s in Charlotte.

We will finally have some sunshine in the forecast Monday and Tuesday as high pressure builds in our area. Monday and Tuesday will be mostly sunny and cool with highs in the 50s.

The first days of weather alerts are in effect for Wednesday and Thursday for a strong cold front that will bring cold temperatures and more rain to our area.

Wednesday’s highs will range from the upper 40 to the lower 50. Thursday’s highs will climb to the mid top 50.

Friday will be mostly sunny and cooler with highs in the 40s.
