Conditions will be dry on Monday, but then showers and storms will return

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Chance for rain and thunderstorms remain in the forecast along with above and below average temperatures

TONIGHT: A saturated atmosphere will carry us through the night allowing fog to develop in places. A thick layer of clouds will remain overhead with temperatures dipping to the low 50s.


MONDAY: Although conditions will be dry, skies will be mostly cloudy. Temperatures will peak in the 60s to 60s.

TUESDAY WEDNESDAY: Chance for rain and thunderstorms return Tuesday afternoon. An anticipated cold front is expected to sweep across the Southeast associated with a low pressure system. Projected system timing appears to allow for the bulk of storms in our area Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. Some of the storms can be severe. It is too early to state specific times/impacts as the forecast is subject to change. The WCBI weather team will keep you informed!

THE REST OF THE WEEK: Following this system, the northerly flow is expected to carry cold, dry air to the south. Temperatures will drop to the 50’s and then into the 40’s as we say hello to a new weekend!
